Components of a Successful Claim

  1. Meritorious (Valid) Claim: Neither you as an applicant, your attorney, nor PARDS
    can provide you with a meritorious claim. Your government and/or a segment of
    society within your country which your government cannot or chooses not to protect you from,
    gives you a meritorious claim (well-reasoned fear of persecution based on political opinion,
    religion, race, nationality, or membership in a targeted social group).
  2. *Well-Reasoned, Written Claim; PARDS Interview: In-person
    (in Princeton or a mutually convenient location), by telephone, or both.
  3. *Authenticated Claim;

    1. PARDS Documentation, and/or
    2. Country-Specific Expert Search.
      Experts can provide affidavits and testimony (telephonic or in-person)
      at the merits hearing.
  4. *Honest, Ethical, Experienced Immigration Attorney Specializing in
    Political Asylum, Deportation, and Convention Against Torture (CAT) Claims;
    PARDS
    can refer you to several attorneys.
  5. Filing and Processing Jurisdiction (While you cannot select the asylum officer
    or immigration judge to whom your case is referred, you can select the pool of INS officials
    who will process your claim on the basis of which immigration jurisdiction you reside in
    and file your application through. The location of your residence [immigration jurisdiction]
    is extremely significant. We can provide you with a list of immigration judges assigned
    in each jurisdiction and advise of their grant rate).
  6. Intellectually Honest Asylum Officer;
  7. Intellectually Honest Immigration Judge.
